Fight leads to attempted murder arrest

A fight in West Bay last month that injured two people has led to the arrest of a man in connection with the incident, according to police.

The 39-year-old suspect, who has not been charged in the case, was arrested early Wednesday on suspicion of attempted murder.

He remains in police custody at the moment.

The fight that led to the arrest broke out Tuesday, 24 May outside Batabano Plaza. 

According to police, both men hurt in the bust up were expected to recover from their injuries. Police said it appeared one man had been stabbed in the shoulder and that another suffered a bloody nose during the scuffle, which was reported around 7.45pm that day.

A man spotted at the scene of the fight was reported to be brandishing a handgun, police said.

Police also searched the vehicle that one of the injured men had used to travel to Batabano Plaza. There were several rounds of live ammunition seized from inside the car. Two men were arrested at the scene in connection with possessing the ammunition.
