Charles Christopher Godet, 18, was
recognised recently for his exceptional musical talent and for his musical
contribution to the Cayman Brac community.

Juliana O’Connor-Connolly was made at a 23 December, 2010, function.
Charles has been playing music for
the last decade, having learned to play the guitar at age eight; he went on to
teach himself the keyboard.
Then, with the help of his father
in 2006, he established the C-Level Band, well-known for performing at hotels
and at Brac events. He has also played in Grand Cayman’s Harquail Theatre.
As a producer of music, Charles has
earned a number of medals at the National Children’s Festival of the Arts.
In making the presentation, Ms
O’Connor-Connolly said her ministry was pleased to acknowledge a young person
who has proven to be a tremendous asset to the Brac community.
“He has shown commitment in
following his passion, and as a community we must take every opportunity to
encourage our young people,” she said. “He is truly a sterling example and we
wish him lots of success as well as God’s richest blessings in his studies.”
Charles is attending Florida
International University, where he is pursuing a degree in business.
“I sincerely thank our Honourable
Deputy Premier for this award. Music has always been, and will always be, a
vital part of my life,” Charles said, “and I look forward to continuing to
provide entertainment on Cayman Brac whenever I have an opportunity to return
home.”
