A 26-year-old West Bay man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in connection with the shooting on Reverend Blackman Road earlier this month.

The man, police said in a statement, remains in custody.

He was arrested Thursday afternoon in West Bay. This is the second arrest made in relation to the incident.

Following the arrest, police carried out two search operations simultaneously, at addresses that were link to this individual. He remains in police custody pending further investigation.

On Tuesday, 14 Sept. police arrested a 20-year-old-man, also of West Bay, on suspicion of attempted murder and was later bailed.

In the 10 Sept. incident, police said officers responded to a report of a shooting at Reverend Blackman Road around 11pm.

Upon arrival they found a 23-year-old man from West Bay with a gunshot wound to his pelvic area.

The victim was transferred by ambulance to Cayman Islands Hospital for treatment and is in a stable condition.

The investigation is still ongoing and detectives are encouraging anyone with information to call the West Bay Police Station at 949-3999.
