The male occupant of a house on Frank Sound Road in North Side was injured in a struggle with a man who broke into his home early Thursday morning.
Police said they received a report of the aggravated burglary and assault shortly after 3am.
The occupants of the house said they had awakened to find the burglar on the premises, and a struggle ensued in which the victim was hurt.
The burglar fled the location.
The injured man was transported to hospital via private vehicle for treatment and, as of Thursday afternoon, he was in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.
The incident is being investigated by Bodden Town CID.
