A child at the Frances Bodden Children’s Home in Savannah was sexually assaulted by a male intruder who entered the home on Tuesday night, police said.
The assault was reported to police the following day, the RCIPS said in a brief statement.
There was no information on whether a suspect had been detained.
The RCIPS Family Support Unit is investigating the incident, with the support of the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub, police said.
“All necessary safeguarding measures have been put in place for the victim,” the statement added.
