Police are investigating the death of an infant boy who died following a water-related incident at Seven Mile Beach.
The child, whose age was not disclosed, was taken to the West Bay Health Centre just before midday Wednesday by his parents after the family had been to the beach, where the the infant “began experiencing difficulties”, police said.
Police said officers were called in after a report of an unresponsive infant boy at the clinic.
The child was treated by medical staff at the clinic and then transported to the Cayman Islands Hospital by ambulance.
The infant was later pronounced dead by the attending doctor.
