Continuing the celebration of Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee, the Cayman Youth Choir is excited to be presenting its royalty-themed ‘Kings & Queens’ concert on Thursday, 9 June at 5:30pm in John Gray High School’s performance hall.
Much like the Party at the Palace event held outside Buckingham Palace, audiences will be treated to a wide range of music from a mix of genres. All the songs featured have a royal theme, being performed by the kings and queens of their field, representing artists such as Queen, Michael Jackson, Bob Marley, Ben E. King, Elvis Presley, Aretha Franklin, Madonna, Ava Max, Stevie Wonder and Carol King. There will also be numbers from movies like ‘The Lion King’, ‘Sister Act II’ and ‘The Jungle Book’.
‘Kings & Queens’ is the first event to be hosted by the school in its brand new hall. With state-of-the-art sound and lighting; excellent acoustics; and upholstered, tiered bench seating for 400, the venue will be a worthy setting for such a royal performance. Access to the building will be through the Cayman Islands Further Education Centre site on Walker’s Road.
