Fans of screeching tyres, powerful cars and talented drivers should head to Parker’s Raceway this weekend for two days of track action.
Located in Breakers, the professionally set-up venue welcomes competitors and spectators alike to enjoy a taste of racing in a controlled environment. The last weekend in June brought out over 700 people to watch vehicles vying for first place, with similar numbers expected in July.
The renovated track reopened to welcome back drivers in March 2022, much to the delight of those who had been missing the sport.
Saturday, 30 July is Test and Tune day, with gates opening at 2pm and the event going to 9pm. Kids under 12 are free, with other general admission tickets ranging from $15-$35 ($30 for an awesome pit pass).
Sunday, 31 July is when the official racing is on! Gates open at 9am with the action scheduled to finish around 6pm. Again, children under 12 are free, with tickets for adults ranging from $20 for general admission to $125 for VIP passes which include access to the air-conditioned tent. Worth every penny in these temperatures.
Refreshments will be on sale, including jerk chicken and locally-made ice cream.
Buy tickets online through www.parkersraceway.com. Even though children are free, all must be registered through the ticket portal.
