While National Weather Service Director General John Tibbetts says the current weather system near the Windward Islands is not set to directly impact the Cayman Islands, the public should continue to monitor its development.
Tibbetts, speaking on the Cayman Compass Facebook talk show The Resh Hour Wednesday night, said though the system is tracking south, it could result in some thunderstorms in the region.
Hazard Management Cayman Islands’s Simon Boxall added that as weather systems develop, the community should continue to track storms in the Atlantic region, as the hurricane season runs until the end of November.
