Police have launched an investigation into a report of illegal dumping in the Newlands area by an individual driving a white Nissan pickup truck.
The person responsible, police said Monday, will be prosecuted for illegal dumping, in conjunction with the Department of Environmental Health.
The RCIPS, in its statement, warned the public to refrain from illegal dumping.
Anyone found to be engaging in such activity will be prosecuted, police said, adding that they are liable to a fine of $500 and six months imprisonment, according to the Cayman Islands Litter Act.
The DEH bulk waste collection has ended for George Town and West Bay residents, and in a previous statement the department advised against leaving waste at the side of the road.
The DEH Bulk Waste Collection takes place from Monday to Saturday and now moves to Bodden Town from 21-26 Nov. Next week collections commence for North Side/East End and will run from 28 Nov.-3 Dec.
