Police are investigating three armed robberies that occurred within an hour-and-a-half of each other on Friday 2 Dec.
According to the RCIPS, the first incident occurred shortly after 9:30pm in the parking lot of Seven Mile Public Beach.
“It was reported that a man was at the location when he was approached from behind by two masked men, one of whom appeared to be carrying a firearm,” said police in a statement released earlier today.
The men are said to have taken a bag containing cash before fleeing in a white vehicle in the direction of West Bay.
The second robbery occurred 10 minutes later, this time along West Bay Road, in the vicinity of Centennial Towers.
“It was reported that a woman was walking along West Bay Road when two masked men approached her. One of the men brandished a firearm and robbed her of a bag which contained cash and personal items,” said police.
The men in the second incident are said to have been dressed in black, wearing masks, and were about 5’7″ tall.
An hour later, at 10:40pm, the third robbery occurred at a food truck along Crewe Road in the vicinity of the Grand Harbour roundabout.
“It was reported that two masked men dressed in all black approached the food truck,” said police. “One of the men brandished a firearm, and the other brandished an unknown object, and demanded cash. The men fled the scene with a quantity of cash from the register.”
According to police, no shots were fired during the incidents and no injuries were reported.
Police have not said if they believe the incidents are connected, nor if they were the same suspected perpetrators.
The latest incidents have pushed the total number of robberies since the start of the year to 40.
