Police are searching for two male suspects, both of whom allegedly robbed a woman and fired a gunshot before making off with an undisclosed sum of cash in George Town Friday night.
No one was injured in the incident, which occurred around 8:30pm, police said.
In a statement, police said officers received a report of an armed robbery in the vicinity of Brushy Avenue, George Town.
The victim, a woman, had been socialising with friends outside her residence under a tent, when the two men, both reportedly armed with firearms, entered the property.
One of the men approached the woman and her grabbed bags, which contained money and other personal items.
He fired a gunshot through the roof of the tent where the woman and her friends were sitting, police said.
The man, together with his accomplice, then fled on foot.
Police said one of the men was described as stout, around 5’9”, dark complexion, and was wearing a blue hoodie jacket, dark jean shorts, with slippers and a dark face mask.
The second man was described as slim build, about 5’7”, dark complexion, and wearing a black hoodie, dark jean shorts with slippers and a white face mask.
