Police have cordoned an area along the beach in Bodden Town following the discovery of a suspected explosive device on Monday evening.
RCIPS, Fire Service, Hazard Management and the Department of Environmental Health personnel remained at the scene Monday and say they plan to monitor the device through the night.
The RCIPS, in an emailed statement following Cayman Compass queries, said it has made contact with “the relevant partners and there seems to be no immediate risk to the public.”
Police said the situation was “under control”.
No further details on the type of object that was found was disclosed by authorities.
