CHAMBER TRAINING CENTRE
The Chamber of Commerce offers a variety of professional training and development courses to improve personal career prospects and equip your staff. ENTERPRISE CAYMAN
Enterprise Cayman is a non-profit organisation (NPO) powered by Cayman Enterprise City (CEC) in partnership with Cayman Islands’ special economic zone companies (SEZCos). The organisation, which applies the Theory of Change (TOC) methodology, provides Caymanians and residents with access to high-quality learning experiences and opportunities to develop and launch new business ventures, to pursue careers within the technology and innovation sectors, and to join a dynamic network of industry professionals. The NPO’s primary focus is to help young adults ages 18 to 25, including those who wish to re-tool for a career change, acquire the skills they need to fill the jobs that are being created within CEC’s special economic zones. Enterprise Cayman also offers an annual internship programme, offering students and recent graduates the opportunity to intern with global tech and innovation businesses. The internship programme is open to Caymanians between the ages of 18 and 25, and placements typically run for two to three months during the summer months. Additionally, Enterprise Cayman is supporting a growing network of entrepreneurs through the ‘Cayman Islands Business Design Competition’ and the ‘Launch Labs’ incubator initiative.

ENTERPRISE CAYMAN CYBERSANDBOX
The Enterprise Cayman CyberSandbox is a vibrant computer science community that encourages collaboration, professional development, and peer-to-peer support within an innovative tech ecosystem. CyberSandbox members meet twice per month, typically on Wednesday evenings at 5:30 p.m. and work on a variety of projects selected by the group. The CyberSandbox initiative is free to all participants thanks to sponsorship from Chainlink and support from Cayman Enterprise City and the Cayman Islands Computer Science Society.

HEALTHCARE EXPLORERS BY HEALTH CITY
Students from primary school through to university can study, explore and be inspired to become the next generation of Caymanian doctors, nurses, technicians, dieticians, radiographers and more through Health City’s Healthcare Explorers programme.
Educational resources include on-demand videos produced by Health City, virtual and on-campus field trips, Health City science fairs, the annual STEM Day Camp and the Shadow a Doctor programme.
Summer internship opportunities include the Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF), which is a premier internship programme for Caymanian university students who study or intend to study medicine.
It has been developed over many years, with considerable focus on offering interns broad exposure during their training. SURF fellows receive a $1,000 stipend. Interns are mentored by world-class doctors, attend lectures led by specialist experts and have the opportunity to view surgeries.
For more senior university students, Health City offers one-month Explorer Internships which are also paid a $1,000 stipend.
Caymanian bachelor of medicine bachelor of surgery (MBBS) 5th year students are also invited to apply to do their MBBS internship at Health City. Information on these 2024 summer internship opportunities will be announced in spring 2024.

INTERNATIONAL COLLEGE OF THE CAYMAN ISLANDS (ICCI)
The International College of the Cayman Islands (ICCI) received premier institution status through the Accreditation Service for Schools, Colleges, and Universities (ASIC) and specialised accreditation for its business programmes through the International Accreditation Council for Business Education (IACBE).
ICCI offers business degrees in business administration, accounting, finance, business and information technology, as well as general or liberal studies.
In addition, in the autumn of 2022, ICCI added several new programmes including sustainable tourism and hospitality management, media management, community health, sustainable agriculture and horticulture, sustainability for marine conservation, strategic organisational leadership, and information science and technology with artificial intelligence.
The college offers several graduate programmes including the master of business administration (MBA), MSc in human resource management, management consulting, sustainable agriculture and horticulture, and sustainability for marine conservation.
ICCI’s master degree programmes are all offered 100% online and many undergraduate degree programmes are also offered online. The Society of Human Resources Management prep course is offered each year. Students needing an alternative to the high school diploma may take the GED prep course at ICCI. A pre-GED course is also offered through the government’s WORC department.

LEADERSHIP CAYMAN
The Leadership Cayman programme is a six-month intensive course, introduced by the Cayman Islands Chamber of Commerce, enabling class members to develop new skills and learn an abundance of vital information about the Cayman Islands’ community and business sector.
Class members attend bi-weekly seminars on a range of different topics, learning from expert and local leaders who facilitate each session. The class also meets with government officials and keynote speakers. To be eligible, you must be at least 25 years old by 1 Jan. of the programme year; have lived in Cayman for a minimum of 12 months; and be in at least a middle-management position.

MINDS INSPIRED
Minds Inspired is a Dart initiative that promotes and encourages science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) education in the Cayman Islands.
It offers various activities and events throughout the year, such as SeaPerch underwater robotics, and FIRST Robotics. These programmes are free and open to students from all Cayman’s schools.
It also offers the Work-X programme, which provides eligible students (Dart scholars and other university students) with real-life work experience. Among the activities planned is the FIRST Tech Challenge on 24 Feb. and the Minds Inspired Maths Challenge on 15 to 16 Nov.
Applications will be accepted for the Work-X programme from 1 March to 1 June; the Dart High School Scholar scholarship application deadline is 12 April, and the Dart Scholar University scholarship application deadline is
9 May.

Ready2Work KY provides training and development opportunities for Caymanians who require tooling and upskilling, the development of employability skills, and soft skills training in accessing and maintaining long-term employment.
This initiative connects unemployed Caymanians with short-term employment opportunities in the private sector designed to lead to long-term employment. In addition, the training is designed to address some of the direct and indirect barriers to employment identified by employers and job seekers to assist them in their job search and employment readiness.

ST. MATTHEW’S UNIVERSITY
St. Matthew’s University has two streams of education: the School of Medicine and the School of Veterinary Medicine. The School of Medicine’s basic science curriculum takes five semesters to complete after which time students can begin their clinical studies and rotations in teaching hospitals in the US or UK.
Graduates can then earn residencies and/or permanent licensure in more than 40 states in the US, as well as Canada and other countries. Students also gain hospital experience at the Cayman Islands Hospital and Doctors Hospital by touring with physicians, making patient rounds and reviewing charts with physicians and nurses.
The School of Veterinary Medicine’s basic science curriculum takes seven semesters to complete and includes clinical training abroad in the fourth year. During clinical training, students work with practising veterinarians and other veterinarian students as part of an agreement with numerous colleges of veterinary medicine in the US and Canada.
Additionally, while completing basic, pre-clinical and clinical sciences semesters, St. Matthew’s students have an opportunity to attain an MBA with a concentration in healthcare management from Davenport University, which is an online school.

TRUMAN BODDEN LAW SCHOOL
The Truman Bodden Law School (TBLS) offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. At undergraduate level, TBLS offers a three-year full-time bachelor of laws (LLB) (Hons) degree or a five/six-year part-time bachelor of laws (LLB) (Hons) degree, both awards of the University of Liverpool (UK).
The LLB programmes (full and part-time) are open to qualified Caymanians and legal residents. The full-time programmes are also open to international students. The LLB (Hons) degree is an undergraduate qualification, meaning that students are eligible to apply without the need to have firstly obtained a bachelor’s degree. All successful LLB graduates are eligible to pursue postgraduate professional training in the UK as the law school has been awarded qualifying law degree status by the UK’s Joint Academic Standards Board.
TBLS also offers a postgraduate professional practice course (PPC) in conjunction with Oxford Brooks University (UK), which leads to the award by the University of the postgraduate diploma in legal practice. This course is offered to qualified Caymanians.
To qualify as an attorney of law in the Cayman Islands, students need to successfully complete the PPC (or equivalent of qualifications) followed by 18 months of articles of clerkship.
