Initial investigations indicated that the vehicle was travelling west along Bodden Town Road, when it left the roadway and collided with a tree.

Police said the man sustained serious injuries and was transferred to the Cayman Islands Hospital by ambulance.

He subsequently succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead by the attending doctor.

Meanwhile, investigations are continuing into the Cayman Brac collision in which Rodriguez was killed.

Police arrived on the scene of the crash at around 7:15am Wednesday. Initial investigations indicated the driver died in a single-vehicle collision in the early hours of that morning.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.
