Starting from midnight on Thursday, the sale of alcohol, and all dancing and music, must cease, as Cayman commences the Good Friday holiday.
The Liquor Licensing Board, in a statement Thursday morning, reminded liquor licence holders, and music and dancing licence holders, of their “legal obligations” regarding Good Friday activities.
Ahead of Good Friday on 29 March, alcohol must cease to be served 10 minutes prior to the end of the establishment’s permitted hours, on Thursday, 28 March, the board said.
The selling of alcohol is strictly prohibited on Good Friday and “only hotels and restaurants with the appropriate licenses are exempted”.
As for music and dancing licence holders, the board reminded that at 11:59pm on Thursday, all music playing and dancing must cease.
Music playing and dancing are also prohibited on Good Friday.
“This restriction applies to all license categories except for hotels, restaurants, airports and ‘port areas’, as stipulated in Section 3(1) and 3(2) of the Music and Dancing (Control) Act (2024 Revision),” the board said.
