Emergency responders rushed a girl to the hospital after she was reportedly struck by a vehicle along Esterley Tibbetts Highway on Saturday.
At about 9:30pm, first responders were dispatched to the scene after it was reported that a vehicle collided with a pedestrian near the Island Heritage roundabout.
According to a Royal Cayman Islands Police Service press release, the victim sustained serious injuries.
In a Sunday evening update, police said she was treated for the injuries, believed to be non-life-threatening, and was released.
Police said no one else was injured, and the investigation is ongoing.
