Police have arrested a 19-year-old driver on suspicion of DUI after his car overturned as he going through a roundabout.
The teenager, who had been driving a Ford Ranger, was breath tested following the incident late on Saturday night, 24 Jan., and returned a result of 0.158%, which is more than double the legal limit, police said.
The officers had responded to a report of a single-vehicle collision in the vicinity of the Esterley Tibbetts Highway and Gecko Link.
“It was reported that the vehicle had left the roadway and overturned while navigating the roundabout, coming to a rest on the sidewalk,” police said.
The passenger of the vehicle received what appeared to be a minor injury, the RCIPS reported.
The driver, from West Bay, was granted bail pending further investigation.
