A 64-year-old visitor from the United States died after getting into difficulties while snorkelling off Eden Rock in George Town.
Police said RCIPS officers responded to a report of a person in distress in the water off the premises on South Church Street on Thursday, 22 Jan.
“It was reported that a man had been snorkelling in the area when he experienced difficulties and lost consciousness,” police said.
The man was assisted to shore by members of the public, who performed CPR until the arrival of the Emergency Medical Services.
The man was transported to the Anthony S. Eden Hospital via ambulance, and was subsequently pronounced deceased, police said.

This is the third water-related death this month.
