The Lions Club of Grand Cayman is set to host its annual golf tournament next month and hopes it will tee off with a full field of teams.

This year’s tournament is scheduled for Friday, 7 Feb., at the North Sound Golf Club, beginning at 12:30 pm.

The friendly competition is one of the club’s key fundraising events.

Organisers are encouraging members of the community to register for the tournament, which all proceeds benefiting Lions Clubs International Foundation’s disaster relief and empowerment programmes, in addition to the operational needs of the Lions Club of Grand Cayman.

“Companies and teams are invited to use this event for team building while supporting a worthy cause,” organisers told the Compass. “The event offers hole sponsorships, event sponsorships, and an opportunity to enjoy camaraderie on the course.”

Recently, the club launched a Community Food Pantry, providing crucial assistance to hundreds in need.

Last year’s tournament featured 13 corporate teams trying their luck on the green. It was ultimately won by ‘RSM 1’ consisting of Alex Bodden, Mark Sparg, Calvin Hall and Cayman’s national champion Andrew Jarvis.

The club is hoping for bigger turnout but, most importantly, an enjoyable day for all taking part.

“Come out, enjoy a day of golf, and make a difference in our community,” the organisers added. “So, grab your colleagues, friends, or golf buddies and make it a day to remember.”
