Following reports of a boat capsizing, Coast Guard Commander Robert Scotland confirmed there had been an incident near Stingray City but that all the people involved were safe.
A post on the Cayman Islands Coast Guard social media pages confirmed that a 17-foot boat with six people on board capsized in the North Sound. The passengers were rescued and are in good health and spirits.
The capsized vessel has been righted and towed back to the coast guard base in North Sound Estates where all occupants disembarked.
The Royal Cayman Islands Police Service added there was no hazard to shipping or boating activity in the North Sound related to the incident.
