Natasha Pettier steps into leadership at Cayman First

The new chief executive officer reflects on leadership, customer trust, and what comes next for one of Cayman’s leading insurers

Natasha Pettier

For Natasha Pettier, leadership starts with people.

Whether supporting members through life’s unexpected moments, working alongside colleagues, or strengthening relationships across Cayman’s business community, her approach has always centred on trust, service, and steady progress.

Now, as newly appointed chief executive officer of Cayman First Insurance Company (Cayman First), Pettier is bringing that same philosophy to the organisation she has helped shape during the last two years.

Having previously served as vice president of property and casualty, Natasha officially stepped into the CEO role on 8 May 2026, following nearly two years as part of Cayman First’s senior leadership team.

During that time, she played an important role in strengthening operational performance, enhancing customer experience, and advancing digital innovation across the property and casualty business.

“It is a privilege to take on this role and continue serving a company that is deeply connected to the people and communities of the Cayman Islands,” she says. “Cayman First has an exceptional team and a clear commitment to putting customers first. I look forward to building on that momentum and continuing to deliver trusted protection and service for the people who rely on us every day.”

A career built on experience

Natasha brings extensive experience in insurance operations, underwriting, risk management, and strategic planning, alongside a strong understanding of the customers, brokers, providers and employees who make Cayman First what it is today.

Since joining the company in 2024, Natasha has worked closely with teams across the organisation to strengthen internal operations while keeping customer experience at the forefront.

“Natasha is a trusted and respected leader whose experience, operational expertise, and deep understanding of our business make her exceptionally well-positioned to lead Cayman First,” says Alison Treco, chairperson of Cayman First.

“She has already made a meaningful impact in the company, and in the experience we deliver to our customers and clients. We are confident in her leadership as we continue building on a strong foundation and delivering the high standard of service our customers and partners expect.”

For Natasha, good leadership is also about empowering people.

“At Cayman First, we are fortunate to have an experienced team that genuinely cares about the people we serve,” she says. “Strong organisations are built by strong teams, and I look forward to continuing to support our people and foster an environment where they feel empowered to succeed.”

Making insurance simpler

As customer expectations evolve, Natasha sees technology as an important part of improving convenience and making insurance easier to navigate.

Under her leadership in property and casualty, Cayman First continued to enhance First Online, the company’s online portal for motor insurance customers, helping to streamline access to policies, benefits, and claim status tracking.

Across the wider business, Cayman First has continued investing in digital-first customer experiences, from online payment options to a dedicated health portal, My Health Online, designed to make insurance more accessible and easier to manage for health insurance customers, too.

But for Natasha, innovation is not simply about technology.

“Technology should make life easier,” she says. “Whether it’s accessing information, managing a policy, or making a payment, we want our members to feel supported every step of the way.”

A company connected to Cayman

While customer experience and innovation remain priorities, Natasha understands Cayman First’s role extends beyond insurance.

From health and wellness initiatives, to road safety advocacy, youth programmes and charitable partnerships, Cayman First has long supported programmes designed to strengthen the Cayman community.

And community engagement has continued to be an important focus during Natasha’s tenure, including new sponsorships and partnerships, public education initiatives, and opportunities to connect directly with customers and clients outside of the office.

“As an insurance provider, we are here to support people through important moments in life,” she says. “That responsibility extends beyond policies. We have an opportunity to contribute positively to the well-being and resilience of our community, and that is something I care deeply about.”

Looking ahead

As she settles into her new role, Natasha will continue working closely with Cayman First’s senior leadership team and board of directors to advance the company’s priorities, support long-term growth, and continue investing in customer experience.

But for Natasha, success ultimately comes back to trust. “Trust is earned over time,” she says. “We are committed to continuing to listen, evolve, and deliver the protection, service and support our customers expect while remaining deeply connected to the Cayman community.”
