Education Minister Rolston Anglin has visited all government schools across the Cayman Islands in a six-month tour which began in January with the Lighthouse School and concluded with a trip to the Cayman Islands Further Education Centre (CIFEC) in June.

During the school visits, Anglin and his team toured school facilities and classrooms with school leaders and met with students and teachers to watch various programmes and activities, including initiatives related to practical skills, cultural heritage, student leadership, and wellbeing.

Anglin was accompanied throughout the school tours by senior leadership from the ministry and the Department of Education Services, including Parliamentary Secretaries Julie Hunter and Heather Bodden. Minister for District Administration and Home Affairs Nickolas DaCosta joined the delegation for visits to primary schools in Cayman Brac, while Minister for Youth, Sports, Culture and Heritage Isaac Rankine joined the delegation during its visit to East End Primary School.

At several secondary schools, Anglin and his team also met with student council members to discuss their learning experiences and perspectives on school life.

Each visit concluded with meetings involving ministry senior leadership and school leadership teams to discuss priorities, operational needs, successes, and areas for continued improvement. Separate meetings were also held with teachers and staff, providing an opportunity for open dialogue about their experiences and concerns.

Anglin said in a statement that the visits reinforced the importance of maintaining strong collaboration between schools, the Department of Education Services and the ministry.

“I am deeply grateful to every school for welcoming us and engaging in open and honest conversations about both successes and challenges,” he said.

“The conversations with students, teachers, and school leaders will directly shape the ministry’s priorities for the next two years, informing future planning, policy development, and investment decisions. Our goal is to ensure every student has access to a high-quality education that prepares them for lifelong success.”
