The first section of the Airport Connector Road, now named the Jay Bodden Highway, opened on Friday afternoon following an official ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by Bodden family members and government officials.

Phase 1 of the Airport Connector Road will open to the motoring public on Friday afternoon, 22 Dec., the National Roads Authority has announced.

The first section of the Airport Connector Road will be completed by the end of September, the infrastructure minister told members during the first day of parliament this week.

The PACT government said it is committed to a three-year timeline to complete infrastructure upgrades, which will cost tens of millions of dollars.

The construction of the Airport Connector Road has been put on hold, but work is expected to recommence in the coming weeks.
