Do you remember Beach Club Colony on Seven Mile? This picture, posted by Terri Merren on the Old Cayman Facebook page, should certainly bring back fond memories for many.

Beach Club Colony on Seven Mile Beach circa 1960, which was demolished to make way for a high-end condominium development.

In the March 22, 1967 edition of the Caymanian Weekly, a precursor of the Cayman Compass, news from George Town included:“The third annual regatta, sponsored by the Cayman Islands Hotel Association, was held Saturday, March 18, off the Beach Club Colony."

The year was 1968. There was no radio, no roundabouts or Internet in the Cayman Islands. There were few hotels, guest houses or footprints along Seven Mile Beach.
