Throughout the past month, and up until Friday, April 12, fuel company Sol has been donating 5 cents from every gallon of Esso fuel purchased to the Cayman Islands Diabetes Association.

A 32-year-old George Town man was arrested late Thursday in connection with a robbery at an Industrial Park gas station.

Stepped-up police activity in the wake of four armed robberies on Grand Cayman this week led to the arrest of one man who officers said was responsible for two of the crimes. Royal Cayman Islands Police Service officers chased down the 25-year-old Bodden Town resident in a stolen, gold-color SUV Wednesday afternoon following a 3 p.m. robbery at the Lookout Grocery Store.

An electric-vehicle charging station will open at the Kaibo Restaurant and Marina later this month, followed by similar facilities at the new Barcam Esso station near Lantern Point, at the Westin resort and at West Bay’s Hell.

Drivers who have been topping up at Esso gas stations throughout Grand Cayman in recent weeks have been donating to a youth crime prevention program in the process.
