Both girls posted personal best scores, each improving their personal best set at the Junior Pan Am Championships in Bolivia three weeks ago by more than 2 full points.

Gymnasts Samantha Peene and Raegan Rutty competed last week at the Junior Pan American Gymnastics Championships in Sucre, Bolivia. Peene placed 24th and Rutty placed 27th in a field that boasted the top junior talent from North, South and Central America.

While Cayman’s Olympic athletes were competing in Rio, two of the islands’ gymnasts were working hard at home, putting finishing touches on routines in preparation for their international debut.
Gymnasts perform well at Gasparilla Classic in Florida
Meaghan Fowler, Kelly Van der Bol, Maddalena Polloni and Arielle Farley brought home top honors as the first place Level 3 team at the Gasparilla Classic in St. Petersburg, Florida, from Feb. 19-21. Fowler also earned an individual bronze on beam.
