After a few weeks of rest for players and coaches, the CUC Primary Football League and CUC Girls Primary Football League playoffs resume on Saturday with the third round of games at the Annex field beginning at 9 a.m.

The first round of the CUC Primary Football League and Girls’ Primary Football League playoffs concluded on Saturday at the Annex field with a number of thrilling matches, organizers said in a press release.

In the CUC Primary Football League games over the weekend, Sir John A. Cumber Primary and Cayman Prep captured top spots in Group A and Group B, respectively, in the Under-11 division. They will enter the Champions Cup competition on Dec. 3 as No. 1 seeds.

The only two undefeated Under-11 schools in Group A of the CUC Primary Football League, Sir John A. Cumber and Savannah Primary, played to a draw on Saturday at Bodden Town Primary’s field.

St. Ignatius Prep traveled to West Bay on Saturday to take on the undefeated Sir John A. Cumber Primary Under-11 boys, while the unbeaten St. Ignatius Prep Under-9s looked to keep their streak going.

The Under-11 boys from George Town Primary, in Group A, celebrated their first victory of the season on Saturday with a 3-1 defeat of Prospect Primary ‘B.’ Kassidy Forrester opened the scoring for the boys from the capital before Jabez Campbell sealed the victory with a double just before halftime.

Sir John A. Cumber Primary remains undefeated in the 2016/2017 CUC Primary Football League and Girls League with Group A wins over George Town Primary on Oct. 15 at the West Bay Town Hall field.

In the CUC Primary Football League and Girls Primary Football League regular season openers at various venues on Saturday, Oct. 8, Cayman International School had wins over George Town Primary in the Under-9, Under-11 and Girls divisions.
