Police are appealing to the public to help identify a man who died after being pulled from the water at Spotts Beach on Monday afternoon.
The RCIPS said emergency services were called to the beach after members of the public helped the man, who was fully dressed, out of the water after he got into difficulties and lost consciousness.
The people on the beach administered CPR to the man, who was then taken to the Cayman Islands Hospital by ambulance where he was subsequently pronounced dead.
Police have released a description of the man in the hopes that members of the public can help identify him.
He is described as being of slim build, weighing about 200-210 pounds, about 6 feet, 1 inch tall, with a brown complexion and brown low-cut hair. He was wearing a pair of blue jeans with a black belt, and a green T-shirt with the word ‘Heineken’.
He also has an injury on his left thumb, which appears to be recent and required stitches, police said.
Police are asking anyone who recognises this description to contact the RCIPS at 949-4222, ex. 2908.
The fatality is the second water-related death this month, and the seventh this year.
