The recent Cayman Rugby Union 2nd annual Xmas Golf Scrummble was a huge sucess, say organisers. Two shotgun starts at 8am and 1pm accounted for 38 teams of four playing better ball in a shotgun start at the Brittania Golf course. Sponsors were also plentifull with all 18 holes being sponored in some form or other. In total, over CI$15,000 was raised on the day which will go a long way to meeting the costs of the junior development program costs which average in the region of CI$85,000 each year.
Union president Derek Haines was delighted with the day. ‘It has been absolutely fantastic, the level of support from both a playing and sponsorship point of view has been unbeleivable, thank you to all involved.’
