National team tryouts

The Cayman Islands Flag Football Association (CIFFA) will begin its national team try outs this weekend Saturday 8th January and Sunday 9th January at 8am – 10:30am at the Triple C Field on Out Post Rd.

Team Cayman was the talk of the 2004 World Cup held in Puerta Plata, Dominican Republic as they finished 3rd overall in the International Division. This year Team Cayman hope to improve even further and make it all the way to the Championship Game.

The National Coaching Staff consists of the following:

Head Coach – Johann Moxam

Defensive Coordinator – Arthur Screaton

Asst. Defensive Coordinator – Jamal Young

Offensive Coordinator – Johann Moxam

Special Teams – Jamal Young

Team Manager – Teddy Hydes

‘After last year’s achievements we intend to build on that success and hope to select the best 22 players on the island to represent Team Cayman,’ said head coach Johann Moxam. ‘Our success as a group is a direct result of the success of our domestic league and I have every confidence that with the proper preparation and commitment we can prove to everyone in Cayman, and at the Tournament, that our success last year was no fluke,’ Moxam continued.

‘We have a solid and dedicated coaching staff that will implement a system that plays to our natural abilities and strengths and will hopefully give the team the competitive edge during the games.’
