Planning must OK trailer homes

Residents importing trailer homes as temporary housing solutions related to post-Ivan recovery are advised to first get planning approval from the Planning Department.

Assistant Director of Planning, Ron Sanderson explains that the department has responsibility to approve all structures on the Islands, including temporary trailer homes.

‘Since trailer homes are not intended for long term use our department must monitor the time frame and other factors,’ Mr. Sanderson said.

Customs officials are aware that approval from Planning is required before residents can clear their trailer homes.

For more information on obtaining approval for a trailer home or other temporary housing structure call the Planning Department at 769-PLAN (7526) and ask for Kenneth Ebanks or Ron Sanderson.
