Sailing Club hosts cleanup

Cayman Islands Sailing Club will host a Cleanup Day Sunday, 27 February from noon until 6pm.

Volunteers will conduct general tidying and clearing of debris; sorting of, and where applicable, removal of hulls, spars, foils, sails, trailers etc.; final clearing of clubhouse interior prior to reconstruction; chainsaw trees, branches etc.; organisation and inventory of club and member boats at CISC.

Members should come ready to pitch in and bring rakes, brooms, wheelbarrows, heavy duty garbage bags, chainsaws, dive or snorkelling equipment to search the channel, gloves and appropriate footwear

Members are requested to identify and mark their boats, spars etc at the Club in order to avoid the accidental disposal of wanted property.

There is no water or electricity at the Club and the restrooms are not in operation (plumbing and electrical works are in progress). Following the roof replacement, there are a large number of nails in the parking area.

Free barbecue for all helpers; cash bar for beer and soft drinks.
