Cingular celebrates first year in Cayman Islands

It was one year ago today that Cingular Wireless (formerly AT&T Wireless) launched a complete line-up of mobile wireless solutions, including wireless access to the Internet, lower international calling rates, affordable international roaming, inexpen

sive prepaid service and special incentives on mobile phones to encourage customers to switch to the Cingular Wireless family.

‘One year after our launch, Cingular has become the leader in wireless service in Cayman. We are capable of bringing the latest technologies to consumers and businesses at rates everyone can afford,’ said Raul Nicholson-Coe, General Manager, Cingular Wireless Cayman Islands in a press release. ‘Despite the devastation caused by Hurricane Ivan last September Cingular Wireless has fulfilled its commitment to the Cayman Islands by providing residents with reliable means to stay connected using wireless Internet, SMS and voice services’.

Cingular Minutes Plus customers are able to use their GSM mobile phones in over 120 countries around the globe for voice, and for Wireless Internet services in over 45 countries. ‘Many Cayman residents travel for business and leisure, and only Cingular can provide the convenience of worldwide roaming at affordable rates,’ said Mr. Nicholson-Coe.

In order to thank its customers, Cingular Wireless will hold a Customer Appreciation Day on Saturday 5 March at its store in the Galleria Plaza and their new store location in the Kirk Freeport Centre (near Cayman Drug). Cingular Wireless invites everyone to visit their stores from 9am – 6pm and join in the celebration. There will be deals on mobile phones including the new Nokia 6010 for only $39 on any postpaid plan, or $59 on prepaid including a free $10 recharge card. Consumers can also view the company’s newest line-up of PDA and data devices.

‘To celebrate we will also be giving our valued customers the opportunity to win a new mobile phone.
