By this weekend 62 suites at another prime hotel on Seven Mile Beach will be re-opened and its rooms are selling out fast.
Comfort Suites now has three of its floors operational following damage by Hurricane Ivan last September, with the fourth floor opening up the end of March and the fifth by the beginning of April.
Along with the 62 out of 110 suites that are up and running, the hotel’s other facilities are also fully functioning, such as Stinger’s Pool Bar and Restaurant, La Cure Spa Escape and the hotel’s gym.
This weekend the hotel is back up and running for corporate business and leisure guests, said Comfort Suites Sales and Marketing Manager Nadia Stradling.
‘We have a huge percentage of corporate business and people are booking as far ahead as June because of the current lack of rooms on the island.
‘In fact, March is pretty much sold out,’ she said.
‘We attract corporate business because of our great location, reasonable pricing and our continental breakfast that’s included’ she said.
Ms Stradling explained that after Hurricane Ivan the hotel had been housing a lot of the Royal Cayman Islands Police along with some relief effort workers over the course of a few months. Some residents were also being accommodated there.
Now, with normality returning to the hotel, Ms Stradling reports that the package for guests is better than ever.
‘The hotel is fantastic. It’s all new décor and upgraded.’
Another new feature of Comfort Suites is that it is now totally smoke free.
‘Anyone who wants to smoke will now have to go outside as part of our new policy,’ said Ms. Stradling.
‘We’re just looking forward to getting back to normal and not having all this turmoil to deal with,’ she said.
The resort’s activities are also in full swing, including the Caribbean Luau night on Wednesdays which features a buffet with limbo dancer, fire eater and live band. Friday is still popular for Happy Hour and appetizers along with live bands.
