Mothersill wins

Cydonie Mothersill made her outdoor track debut for 2005 at the Florida State Relays in Tallahassee, where she won the 400 meters in a time of 54.01.

Robert Ibeh ran 10.87 in the men’s 100-meter dash at the Clemson Relays, and was a member of the Tigers’ winning entries in the 4×100 meter and distance medley relay events.

Heavy rains at the Florida Relays in Gainesville last weekend washed out most of the college individual events, and no specific information has been forwarded regarding the participation of Florida International University students Ronald Forbes and Michael Lettrlough.

Stephon Johnson of Lindenwood University placed sixth in the long jump at the Louisiana State University Tiger Relays, with a leap of 23’4′.

Ventisha Connolly of Goshen College won the women’s hammer throw at the Goshen Invitational with a toss of 110 feet, 4 inches. A week previous, she placed sixth in that event in the Polar Bear Invitational with a mark of 103’9′.

Volleyball results

Results from the Youth and Sports Corporate Volleyball League Quarter-Finals are as follows:

Express Lube Defeated Youth and Sports 25-26; 25-17

Duetsche Bank Defeated KPMG 25-7; 25-14

Probation Longshots Defeated Close Brothers 25-20; 25-23

Water Authority Defeated Deloitte 25-10; 25-19

The Semi-Finals will take place on Monday 4 April at the Airport Park and will feature:

Water Authority vs Express Lube at 6pm.

Duetsche Bank vs Longshots at 7.15pm.

The 2005 edition of the April Foolaround will be conducted Saturday around Grand Harbour, beginning at 7.30am.

Organized by the Phoenix Athletic Club and sponsored by Castaway’s Grille and Davie Jones Locker, race day registration will take place outside Castaway’s from 6.30am. The out-and-back course extends 2.5 miles.

The first three male and female finishers will receive theme-related awards, and all participants are eligible for random prizes, including gift certificates from Grand Harbour establishments, such as Castaway’s, Davie Jones Locker, the skate park, and the wave pool, among others.

Entry fee is CI$15 and those who take part will receive event shirts, the opportunity to gain performance and random prizes, and refreshments.
