Cingular teams up with American Idol

Cingular Wireless is making it easy for two lucky Cayman Islands residents to see the season finale of the popular American Idol series live in Hollywood 24 May.

The winner will join thousands of fans in Los Angeles, as millions tune in to see the crowning of the next American Idol, state a press release.

Register for the Cingular ‘Txt-n-Win’ Sweepstakes by sending a text message containing the word ‘WIN’ to 345-525-TEXT (8398). Standard text messaging rates will apply. Once registered, each text message sent locally or internationally is an additional entry, thereby increasing the chances of winning.

‘We are very excited to be sending two lucky Cingular customers from Cayman to the American Idol final show in Hollywood,’ said Lucy Tibbetts, Sales and Marketing Manager. ‘Because Cingular phones can text to any local number or to international numbers, every text automatically counts as a contest entry. This promotion is open to residents of the Cayman Islands who are Cingular Wireless customers only. A Cingular Wireless phone can be purchased for as little as $39 and customers can start texting right away to enter the contest. Participants can also win one of fifty cool prizes (DVD’s, t-shirts, backpacks, etc.) by visiting a Cingular retail store at the Galleria Plaza, West Bay Road or Kirk Freeport Centre, Georgetown. All that is required is to fill out an entry form at the store and place it in the ballot box.

The sweepstakes ends May12th, 2005 and the winner will be announced on May 13th, 2005. Secondary prize winners will be notified via text message with details on how to claim their prize.
