‘We are encouraging all families within the community in Cayman to have a disaster plan, so please come out to the series of district meetings.’
The series of activities begins with presentations delivered at various local churches in the community on Sunday, 1 May.
On Monday, the Red Cross will have a booth in the centre of George Town. There, individual can obtain information about the Red Cross and other important disaster preparedness material.
From Monday to Friday representatives from the Red Cross will be visiting various primary schools in the districts to give presentation of preparedness.
The week-long series of events will culminate with a human Red Cross chain to be formed at the Truman Bodden Sports Annex at 3.30pm Sunday, 8 May.
Red Cross representatives are encouraging everyone to come out, to wear something red, and in recognition of Mother’s Day, to bring your mother and help celebrate the day by holding hands to form a human Red Cross to be photographed for a poster, said the spokesperson.
