My wife and I were shopping in downtown George Town on Wednesday afternoon and noted that the vast majority of retail stores left open their front doors.
Cold air was continuously exiting from these stores.
In fact, we sat on a bench outside one of these stores and were cooled by the draft from their air conditioning.
CUC has reduced generating capacity and world energy resources are slowly expiring.
Surely, energy conservation must be in the forefront of everyone’s mind.
Can’t these stores close their front doors to save electricity?
Customers can easily access these stores with the doors closed.
Could not the Chamber of Commerce institute a policy for the retail section or do we enlightened consumers have to boycott these energy wastrels to get the message across? I hope not.
