Scholars International delivered a memorable performance Sunday in the Admiral Youth League final at the Annex in George Town.
Scholars held Western Union scoreless while they pumped in five goals. Scholars play was outstanding in all aspects of the game as Western Union was never able to put consistent pressure on Scholars defence or keep the West Bay boys out of their area.
The win capped a banner year for the under-17 team, having won the FA Cup earlier in the season.
‘Today we played as a team,’ said Scholars coach Greg Ebanks. ‘I am very, very proud of them. To go undefeated in the league and the FA Cup is an excellent accomplishment.’
Ebanks says his team will lose five players to age next season but should still be a strong force capable of collecting more hardware.
