The more than 200 children turning up each day to Bodden Town football camp have once again made the annual event a big success.
‘It is going really well and it is good fun for the kids but it is also in an atmosphere of discipline with the emphasis on good behaviour,’ said organiser Mark Scotland.
The week-long camp, for boys and girls aged six to 16, was being held at Bodden Town Primary School.
Among an array of coaches on hand to give the kids a pointer or two were senior and under-17 players from Bodden Town Football Club, including 15-year-old Tevon Levien, recently returned from Brazil.
Technical director was Elbert McLean and other coaches included Marcos Tinoco, Thiago Cunha, Daniel Augustine, Easton Russell, Renard Powell, George Berry, Carson Ebanks and Sid Pierson.
Organisers included Cindy Ebanks, Laverne Minzett, Ellen Rose Sherman and Kendal Whittaker.
Sponsors of the event included Lookout Gardens Ltd., Harvey Stephenson, the Water Authority, Cingular, National Housing and Development Trust, Burger King, Pizza Hut, APS Security, Wood Furniture, Savannah Springs, Hydes and Sons, Western Union and Best Home Care.
