Only one WestStar cable box will be installed at each customer location until mid-September, the cable television company has announced.
Distribution was temporarily limited since June because the Taiwan manufacturer was unable to produced WestStar’s order on time due to delays caused by part shortages. The shipment has now been further delayed as a result of a powerful typhoon which pounded Taiwan in July.
The first batch of new boxes is now expected to arrive in mid-September, with the remainder arrive in October and November.
WestStar currently has enough stock to install one cable box per customer until the new shipment arrives.
Customers who have already signed up for two or more boxes will not be charged for the installation of the additional boxes, providing the extra boxes were requested at the initial sign-up.
An announcement will be made when the new cable boxes arrive and those on the waiting list will be contacted to arrange installation.
