School start delayed for John Gray

Parents are advised that Year 11 and 12 John Gray High School students will start school on Monday, 12 September, rather than today as earlier announced.

Chief Education Officer, Nyda Flatley, said the delay was necessary to allow for the arrival and installation on a key piece of electrical equipment for the school’s new temporary canteen.

It is anticipated the canteen will be fully operational by Monday and able to cater to the school’s more than 900 students, said a GIS press release.

The delay does not affect Year 10 students, who were to attend yesterday and today from 8.30am to 3pm.

School opens for all George Hicks students today.
