Just say no to dolphins

It was great to read that divers had the pleasure of seeing a wild dolphin off our shores.

Having seen dolphins playing beside a boat, diving up and down in the bow wave, it is a wonderful experience.

Several countries in our area and marine experts now recognize that programs of dolphins in captivity are undesirable.

The way dolphins are captured and transported is cruel.

Then life in an unsuitable restricted enclosure is not only torture for them, but reduces their life span.

It should also be recognized that the capture and enclosure of dolphins is contradictory to our aims for the protection of our environment and wild life. Let us hope that the proposed dolphin programs are not allowed to proceed.
