Literary benefactor Coutts was recently presented with several sets of the recently-released two-volume edition of creative poems and stories – The Coutts Collection 2005 and The Best of 21.
‘We’re very proud to be associated with the National Children’s Festival of the Arts, and look forward to being involved for many years to come,’ Assistant Manager Peter Tonissoo, who heads Coutts’ Private Banking section, said in a press release.
Mr. Tonissoo accepted the books from the NCFA festival’s coordinator Stephanie Williams and Education Officer for Science and IT Fred Speirs, who co-edited The Best of 21.
This is the fifth consecutive year that the company has sponsored the publication of the gold award-winning poems and essays from the annual student literary competition, the release said.
The Best of 21 – copies of which were also presented to Mr. Tonissoo – is an anthology of the best literary pieces from the past 21 years.
Ms Williams applauded the corporate assistance of the private company, which is the major sponsor of the literary competition. She also commended the support received from other agencies, especially the Cayman National Cultural Foundation which co-funded the production of the publications.
CNCF Artistic Director Henry Muttoo selected The Best of 21 poems and designed the book jacket. The book features a cover illustration by artist Nickola McCoy and designs by John Doak.
