Arrest in machete attack

Police have arrested a 38-year-old East End Caymanian male in connection with a machete attack.

On Tuesday at 11.50pm police were called to a liquor license premises in Boddens Road, George Town. At the scene they found a male who had been assaulted with a machete and received a chop wound to his hand. He was transported to hospital where he was admitted into the critical care unit with a serious hand wound.

An investigation continues.


Police attended a burglary report at a North Sound Road store where an unknown quantity of money had been stolen from a safe.

Police said forensic material was recovered from the scene is being processed.
