Red Cross boosts training

Cayman Islands Red Cross, as part of its commitment to emergency response, is training about 100 Fire Department officers in first aid and CPR.

This training session is also a demonstration of the Red Cross’ integral function with its emergency response counterparts.

For some of the fire officers, the course is a refresher; others are receiving the training for the first time.

Elizabeth Stewart, Health and Safety Manager at the Red Cross, spoke of the enthusiasm of the participants in the course.

‘I am extremely pleased with the dedication of my trainees. Their professionalism is evident in how serious they are taking this life-saving course,’ she said.

The Red Cross offers first aid and CPR training to its counterparts and members of the public on a regular basis. For more information about this course, call 949-6785 Ext. 30.
