Four arrested after fight

On Thursday, 8 December the 911 Emergency Communication Centre dispatched officers to a fight outside the Next Level Nightclub on West Bay Road.

One officer received an injury to his hand and three officers were assaulted during the disturbance.

A 24-year-old Caymanian male was arrested for assault actual bodily harm. A 23-year-old Caymanian male was arrested for assault actual bodily harm, resisting arrest, obstructing police and damage to property.

An 18-year-old Caymanian male was arrested for threatening violence and a 23-year-old Caymanian male was arrested for assaulting police, resisting arrest and obstructing police in the execution of their duty.

Officers at the George Town Police Station are dealing with the incident.

Accidents

On Thursday at 5.45pm the 911 Emergency Communication Centre dispatched police, paramedics and fire control to the scene of a two-vehicle accident at the junction of Vienna Circle and South Sound Road.

There was approximately two gallons of oil spilled at the location due to the accident. A 60-year-old female was transported to the Cayman Islands Hospital with minor injuries.

The Traffic Department is dealing with the investigation.

On Friday at 1.32am police, paramedics and fire control were dispatched by 911 to the scene of an accident on West Bay Road in the vicinity of Government House.

The driver of a white Suzuki ran into a parked car that was for sale at the location.

The driver, a 25-year-old male from the UK, received two broken legs and had to be cut from the vehicle by fire control officers. He was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.

The Traffic Department is dealing with the investigation.

Arrest

Police arrested a 37-year-old Jamaican female on Thursday at 4.12pm for offences of wounding and carrying an offensive weapon.

DUI

On Wednesday, a 26-year-old American male was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. He was later charged with the offence and was to appear in court on Friday, 9 December.

Brac roadblock

Eight officers from the Cayman Brac Police Station conducted three separate roadblocks on Thursday, 8 December. Two tickets were issued for failing to display a current vehicle licence coupon.

Several drivers were warned about the ‘tint’ levels on their vehicles and given time to have the tint removed before being prosecuted.

Plans are also in hand on the Brac for a night time operation targeting drink drivers.

GT roadblock

Five officers including a special constable carried out a roadblock in the vicinity of the Pinnacle on West Bay Road.

The operation took place between 11pm and 2am on Wednesday, 7 December.

The operation resulted in four traffic tickets being issued for various offences, six production slips for driving licences and insurance details and one arrest for driving under the influence of alcohol.
