Ogier names two partners

Ogier has named two long-term associates to the partnership.

Giorgio Subiotto and Colin MacKay are the newest partners with Ogier, both based in the Cayman office.

Mr. Subiotto has over 13 years’ experience in corporate and commercial law. He has a broad practice that covers investment and private equity fund formation, corporate/commercial matters – including joint ventures and acquisitions – and capital markets and structured finance products. Before joining Ogier (then Boxalls) in 2002, Mr. Subiotto worked with Sullivan & Cromwell in New York from 1998 to 2002, Pinheiro Neto – Advogados in São Paulo from 1994 to 1995 and Linklaters in London and Paris from 1992 to 1994 and from 1995 to 1997.

‘It is an honour to join the Ogier partnership and to thereby cement my commitment to Cayman. My family and I moved here with the intention of becoming part of this community and with this next step in my career, Cayman is now definitely home,’ he said.

Colin MacKay was admitted as a solicitor in 1994 in Scotland and worked for leading Scottish law firms Maclay Murray and Spens and then MacRoberts. He was admitted as an attorney in Cayman in 1999 to head the corporate department of a Cayman law firm before moving to a Cayman Islands licensed bank and mutual funds administrator as the corporate department and compliance manager. He joined Ogier in 2003 to specialise in investment funds, financial services and products, financial markets and corporate and commercial law.
