Gay cruise leaves anger in its wake

The gay cruise has left the shores of Cayman, off into the sunset leaving us all here divided and angry.

Some are angry that the cruise was allowed to stop, some are angry about the church making so much fuss and some are angry because so much energy has been wasted on such an issue from both sides.

One thought that has been put to me is that if the church has such strong feelings against gays, would it be right for people from the church to sit on official boards, committees and commissions when clearly they could not be impartial and fair to all peoples from different backgrounds and beliefs. Interesting thought.

When are we going to see the placards ‘No Booze Cruise’ when all the booze cruises go out on the water for a pleasant and enjoyable afternoon. When are we going to see placards outside the Glass House saying ‘No Gays in Government.’ When are we going to see placards outside the maternity wards saying ‘No illegitimate babies.’

More importantly, when are we going to see common sense because we are all human and everyone is entitled to their own opinions and beliefs and should respect other people’s opinions and beliefs.

The church maybe needs to get its own house in order.
